WORKING WITH OUR SMART BOARD
Start by experimenting with Notebook software and then exploring some online interactive resources.
1. Getting started: This is a touch-sensitive board where you can control programs and write digital notes directly on the screen. You can also save your work for presentations.
2. Experimenting: Try writing, selecting, converting to text and using basic Notebook tools.
3. Try experimenting with examples of existing educational resources. Your job will be to review the sites and report on which ones you recommend for others. You will find samples of SMART notebook lessons and games in Ms. Neilson's school network handout folder. In addition you may find the following weblinks effective on an interactive board:
*Bomomo: Art game
*Digital Dialects: Language Learning Games
* Planets: Control how you view the solar system
*Freezeray: Interactive Science lessons
*National Library of Virtual Manipulatives: math
*Virtual Tour - Lascaux Caves: Explore!
* Jackson Pollock: Painting (These sites are not necessarily all designed with a Smartboard in mind, but they can be effective because they are interactive). Remember that you may only use one contact point at a time, so if you are at the board with a partner you will need to work as a tag team.
*More Links: for secondary school students and teachers
